Two Views - Morro Bay
Here are two versions of the same scene - Morro Bay fishing boats. Photos were taken at lunch between the storm systems earlier this week with a little point and shoot Pentax camera.

Shell Creek Wildflowers March 2013
I took my first trip of the year to Shell Creek looking for wildflowers. Not much in the way of flowers right now - just a few scattered Baby Blue Eyes. It's awful dry out in east San Luis Obispo county, and we could really use more rain. So the jury is still out on how the wildflower bloom will develop for this year.
I had to work hard to get photos - down on my belly with the macro lens. The photo below gives an overall sense of the wildflower cover right now.

Duck!
It was 75 degrees F (briefly) in Morro Bay yesterday, and the ducks were relaxing in the calm waters of Morro Creek.

Storm Clouds Over Templeton
We don't often get thunderstorms in Central California - unlike New Mexico or the mid-west. So dramatic clouds are something us photographers go "chasing" when they are around. The sky on Friday evening did not light up with color, but the cloud display was great. Here are a few examples

More Coastal Black and White
I've spent some time lately learning to better use some of the tools in Lightroom and Photoshop. Here is an example of a black and white conversion that I am pretty pleased with. The photo was taken at sunset at the north end of Cayucos.
