Star Trails Over Templeton

After a late night of star watching at Calcerous Winery, I created this star trail photo.  Not much to use in the way of foreground, so we just had to go with the tunnel of stars.

Low Tide - Estero Bluffs

This protected beach just north of Cayucos, CA has great tide pools at low low tide.  It's a bit of a hike to get there, but well worth it!

High Surf, Otherwise Clear

High waves from a storm across the Pacific Ocean reached the Central California coast this weekend.  The photo below shows waves breaking in Estero Bay just north of Morro Bay, CA.  With the wind blowing from onshore to offshore, it was just too windy for the surfers to take to the water.

The winds kept the skies clear, and I used that cloudless clear blue sky in the oak tree picture below (Santa Rosa Creek Rd near Cambria).  It's an experiment with some of the tools in Lightroom.

Pismo Dunes

I've changed photographic locations from the rocky beaches of Cayucos and Cambria to the sandy dunes of Pismo Beach and Oceano, California.  There are several stretches of dunes that are off limits to off road vehicles and make for interesting photo subjects.
